456 Bus Route through Winchmore Hill – plans showing loss of parking in Farm Road
The 456 Bus Route through the centre of Winchmore Hill that was proposed and underwent consultation earlier in the year is now being implemented. Enfield Council has recently published the plans as to how Farm Road will be adapted and the plans to restrict parking in the road in order to accommodate the bus route along the road and the bus stop that is required there.
The WHRA did not oppose the introduction of the bus route from the beginning as we could see that there was a case for the route based on the lack of available existing bus services along the proposed route. However we did feel that there were a number of key concerns we had that we have been pushing for recognition of during the consultation process.
The first letter we sent documented our concerns about the bus stop in Station Road and the use of the layby outside the station this can be seen by clicking the link below. The recent letter from the council outlining the plans for Farm Road and the plans are causing concern for the residents who will see much more parking removed that they might have considered necessary previously. We have responded to this letter and the plans and you can see our response below. We await the letter and plans for the remainder of the route along Station Road and will respond accordingly when we have sight of these.
